you put a map up for download on the internet, make a few minor corrections in the geometry, then save it and play someone on it who has the old version? does it affect the skybox/custom textures any? and what if you change the capitalization of the name?

My personal philosophy is that if I find an error in an old map I just let it go and try to not make that mistake next time.
In My Filthy Mind instance, on one side of one Cube a face is exposed but only by heightfield, so the texture was changed to something I didn't want because of a faulty optomization in the map. Most people probably won't notice though.

yeah, true, but this was one of those "misaligned corner" glitches, which would cause the game to crash if you happened to fire a rocket into the gap. you should know what I mean by "misaligned corners" from your own abuse map. I'm just such a perfectionist. I was just wondering if it would make it unable to play against someone else with the old version.

#1119: Request: English - German translator |

Is there anybody out there that would like to translate the whole rules segment on http://league.hofv.net/ to German for me? It would help the CUbe community greatly to have a German page as well as English.
If you want to do so, basically just translate it and send it by email to verbal@hofv.net
Please try to preserve the format a bit so I know what goes where. (i.e. for secion 1.1, labelit section 1.1, and so on)
Thanks; and also: sign up people!

I mean "Notes" on the page with fisheye patch. There are some outstanding issues.
Player roll is not implemented for the same reason its not implemented in Fisheye Quake ;)

#1121: mouse trouble |

Hi, just downloaded and tried out cube.
Cool, except:
The mouse y axis is kaputt for me. When the sp game lauches I face horizontally, can move with kb all ok. But when I touch the mouse it immediately puts me facing the floor, and I can't get it to face up (except to change invert mouse, when it faces straight up istead).
Mouse x axis seems to work all right.
Anyone seen the same behavior?
Running gentoo linux, and a cube zip I downloaded yesterday from your first mirror on the download page.
Great project
Thanks
Jimmy

Sounds like you need to check and make sure that you have the latest version of SDL.

cubestuff hasn't been updated in a short while, due to being out for 2 weeks on Christmas. A pretty large update with everything that went on around Cube is coming.
If you're interested in the League, or have already signed up, view this thread: http://wouter.fov120.com/cube/forum.php4?action=display_thread&thread_id=166
at the bottom.
http://riclan.hofv.net/ has been updated also if anyone is interested..

I am making a whole new design for the site anyhow. All new colors.
The reason for that was that's the defualt and I did the whole thing in a text editor, and didn't remember the link color html lines...never bothered to fix it.

I updated SDL, still the same, I also compiled quake2 ... same behavior. starts ok, but when I touch the mouse it snaps to straight up/down position. Whiplash.
I must have some strange setting somewhere. I googled but found nothng. Anyone heard of this before?
Thanks
Jimmy
