it can't be played with a pc that can do most other things such as runnin excel & word & so...

are you developing your stupid game with 3GHz, 2GB, 1GB 3d?
with all settings minimal, it can't be played with 300MHz pc, it get only 9fps (max) and moving is slower than doom ever was.

i really don't respect those lamers who can't program games that could run fine on a pentium.

you are just similar to microsoft, id software and all other who do new games only for 100GHz pc's.

i really was hoping i could play this game with my 300MHz pc, but no.

You're a twit, and your computer is lacking in other ways. When I still had a p3 450, the game ran great with average settings. Anything less than a p3 450 is pretty old (4+ years); heck, even a 1 GHz processor isn't all that expensive. Ultimately, Cube is a zero-profit game, and Aard can do whatever Aard wants to do, and even with that in mind, Cube can still run pretty well on some old machines. I'm thrilled with what Aard has done. Even then, the "bloated" games of id Software do what they are intended: showcase the leading engine that will power several of the newer games over the next few years by using it to power a kickass game of their own. Without id Software, you wouldn't even have a p300, because p2's would still be top of the line, and they'd be more expensive than the newest processors are now.

Fire shotgun, spark shower in my face.

Fire chaingun, spark shower in my face.

Fire rifle, spark shower in my face.

Fire rocket, instant 'splosion, unless you strafe back when firing, and there is a still rocket that blows up around you.

Cube runs fine on k62-266

You had the same problem I had, its because your card is out dated, you would have to get a newer card I'm affraid to fix this problem, get one with nvida 2 and up, this could be sometimes a pain because the newer cards on the market will only work with mx 4 mainboard, then you would have to update your mainboard, cpu, switch to RIMM memory, arrrrrrrrg !!! But might as well, with the newer games that keep comming out.

cube will run bearable on a p300... more likely your video card is the problem.

There seem to be a lot of people running cube using achaic video cards with the original drivers that came with their computers, and expect cube to run faultlessly.

I have a Celeron 366 and was getting that -- but as a minimum, usually better -- with a TNT card and still considered it fun, so I think a 300 P2 would do it ... now I have a GF4, yes a MX ($70-90) one like they say suck, and I'm seeing 20-50 fps at 1024x768 on the same CPU. It's a PCI version even.

How can you even compare the developer (notice developer, not developers) of Cube to Microsoft? Cube is FREE, it is OPEN SOURCE. If you think you can do better, do it, make the game run faster. The licence allows you to.

I mean what right do you have to insult Aardappel with that bullshit because you can't run his game?
