Well first off it looks like some normals are simply facing the wrong way.
Try "recalculate normals outside" on the model. If that doesn´t work, it´s probably your exporter version, and you should try this one:
http://johnny3d.promail.ca/blendermd3.zip
BTW, other wiki editors: Why is the above link along with the "Suggested Modelling Tools" section removed from the wiki ? It held important answers to frequently re-occurring questions, wich now some people have to answer again all the time, instead of just posting the appropriate link :S :S I mean cmon there was a reason I wrote it, and then someone just deletes it :/ makes me so wanna write more....

Okay, I will implement blendermd3.zip into the CVS, that way I can be inducted into the source code.
I started already implementing UV map feature, but I had trouble with vertex stream compiler. Then I added a speedup to every statement. For example:
for(s = string.string; *s && len = while(); --len, ++s, goto for; stop;)
I found that this speeds up compile time to 100% of the orignal compile time.
I will share this with you but only if you give me Real Ultimate CVS Power.

http://cubeengine.com/forum.php4?action=display_search&keywords=blendermd3&submit=+GO+
tells us to look for it here :
http://johnny3d.promail.ca/blendermd3.zip
and indeed there we find a file by that name - can't vouch for usefulness though, since I don't model

Hello Francisco,
I have an md3 exporter that supports animations and tags for blender. You can download it here;
http://johnny3d.promail.ca/blendermd3(2).zip
As for usage I can go into length about do's, dont's and howto's but the best way is for you to ask questions and I'll help you as I can. Email me or find me on the sauerbraten irc channel. I'm usually there for most of the day.

The only one of those looking familiar to me is VRLM. Both milkshape and blender can import them. I got no idea how good they´ll do it, but I´d try it.
For blender, use this:

Max: It looks like some of the faces are facing the wrong direction.
Try to check that.
Are you using blender only to export?
You know, you will need q2modeller to get a working md2 from blender (blender´s script is broken).
Or use this:
http://www.planetgargoyle.com/openarena/tools/blendermd3.zip
and use md3.

I see you use blender, make sure you have this:
http://www.planetgargoyle.com/openarena/tools/blendermd3.zip
the only working md3 exporter.
